Actually went here based on the reviews & I should not have gone at all. Paid for a vaccination treatment, worm and flea and microchipping. Remained in constant contact with them during the day & they were helpful. So its been over a week since he had his flea treatment and prior to him going there he had NO FLEAS. My wife did it herself and for weeks my kitten and house had nothing. As soon as he come back from the vets he started getting fleas! Upon ringing them back they advised me to get the house treated and decided to blame me & its my fault for it, when we never have had any flea issues over the last 3 months and my kitten stays at home. Thanks a lot for the treatment & also my kitten has a massive lump after the vaccination 2 weeks after. Ridiculous service.
The following review is my honest opinion based on my recent experience at Thornbury vets....They are friendly enough, until you take issue with paying extortionate 'consultation fee' for no diagnosis or treatment! It turns out the symptoms my cat had were as a result of live vaccinations given at this practice two days earlier, although I had to google her symptoms in order to get a diagnosis. The vet wasn't able to diagnose without a 'second opinion' so he arranged for us to return the following day - we had to pay 33 for the initial 5 minute 'consultation' and they were going to charge us a second 33 for the second opinion that the vet himself arranged! Why should we pay a second fee because the vet didn't know (or claimed not to know) what to diagnose - seems very unfair that a business can operate in this way. I might set up a vet practice, it seems I can get paid a fortune whether I know what i'm doing or not...oh and the reception staff talk over you constantly, question information from reputable online vets and I was met with a defensive attitude when I rang to address this blatant injustice. I'm so very disappointed in this practice, having used Yorkshire vets in various locations for our pets over the last 15 years....We have paid upfront for a course of vaccinations etc, suffice to say we will be taking our business elsewhere once the jabs are done.
Dont take your pets here, they killed my beloved Bulldog Lizzie who only went in to get spayed and are now trying to cover up there disgusting actions! This will not be the last of this believe me, you can keep deleting my comments and I will keep re adding them! You are going to pay for what you have done and that is a promise! I am currently dealing with the rcvs, my advise is if you want ur pet to live do not put any trust in these animals!!!
