Very interesting house, set in a park. Lot of history , particularly relating to the English Civil War. Exhibits range from food, clothing, equipment and furniture. Free entry, staff very pleasant , knowledgeable and helpful.
Excellent place to visit, great people there very helpful. Lots of history to learn and great place for all ages.
Lovely place in Bradford. No admission fee and parking is plentiful. Rich in history and ideal for children and adults. Guess it would be useful for schools to make a visit too. Worth a visit if you are in Bradford.
A fantastic museum, showcasing many periods of history in one house. Very friendly staff too. Entry is free and there's a very small public library and a coffee machine in the gift shop - so it's a very cheap day out even if you stop for a cuppa! It was very quiet when we went, which is a shame as there's such a lot to see. The park is across the road so why not go on a cheap day out and take your children if you have any?
Went many times as a child. Not changed at all aside from the shop! Took my daughter for the first time and she enjoyed it. They could do more to make it more accessible/explainable to children. A lot of it revolves around the civil war and just a basic fact sheet explaining what it was about would be helpful but the rooms themselves and larger objects are interesting. A good way to spend an hour and it's free!
