I attended this school in about 1945 when we were evacuated to Bradford from London. I remember that the headmastwer's name was Mr Head - quite appropriate really! I also remember a woman teacher laying a boy on her table and thrashing him savagely with a thick stick - for talking! It remains the most severe beating I have ever seen. It terrified the life out of me, witness that I still remember it, now aged 80.
