Really enjoyed this bar. Well decorated, food and alcohol are well priced. Good value.
I ordered a cottage pie... Whatever it was it was not that..Beef was grey, and ground rather than minced - looked like the type of food you'd buy for your dog. No veg or gravy in it - came on the side instead. Pie was covered in melted red Leicester to try to make up for the lack of any taste - didn't. Whole thing was cold. I paid 7 for this by the way. Can get a tastier one for 4 at J. D. Wetherspoon. Way too few staff on - two poor girls were running around catering for at least fifty people on their own. I'm betting they weren't even paid accordingly either. Disgraceful.
used to go in regularly but been working away for a year. now back permanently. no free newspapers to read now (used to be a good selection) The piped music used to be great, now playing modern rubbish, despite most of the clientele being older. The real ale was warm. Very smart place though but will need more to make me a regular again.
