Moderate sized art gallery set in large park. Excellent displays of art works from both fixed and travelling collections. Free entry, very helpful staff.
Attractive building filled with a pleasing mix of art styles and media. There is s gift shop and toilets. I did see people there in wheel chairs, so there must be disabled access. The staff are friendly and there are temporary exhibits as well as the more permanent pieces. The paintings vary from Victorian landscapes to Hockney. There are examples of Netsuke, beautiful carpentry pieces, Indian art and textile art.
Brilliant! Lister park in itself is a beautiful park to visit and is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Cartwright Hall is a real gem, an imposing but beautiful building filled with some beautiful art. Entry is free. On road parking is available and there is some limited car parking in the park where you can the walk to the Hall. Highly recommended.
Some fabulous works by David Hockney. Great pieces of art work by other artists too and some very young artists from school having their work showcased. Clean, spacious and very welcoming. On two floors so access on the upper floor might be difficult for those with mobility issues.
Cartwright Hall is excellent with a number of permanent displays including one which celebrates Bradfords connection with David Hockney and other temporary exhibitions. All of which are well presented. The Hall is set in Lister Park which has a lake, beautiful trees, a playground and paradise gardens which have been features on television by Monty Don.
